 Apple's IPod finally has shipped and the results seem to be very good. I found the IPod a nice MP3 player and hard drive combo. I think earlier adopters will enjoy the products features such as the skroll wheel to find a song , play list or album. While the 400.00 dollar price tag may seem steep , one must realize that no other product comes close to the IPod . The built in Firewire allows fast transfer of an entire CD in 10 seconds and the ability to carry over 130 cds in one unit is a big plus. Apple should have added a carrying case because the unit screams for one. Also , the rear cover smuges easy and needs constant care. The closet product to the IPod is the Nomad II which is much bigger and uses USB. With the investment in the IPod , it would be suggested to purchase a nice pair of head phones and for some a firewire hub. Overall I would suggest that most go to your local Apple store and try it out for a test drive. Pros: Size , ease of use , fast transfer via firewire and large hard drive for over 1000 songs. |
