How to: Share and Share Alike

File sharing over the Internet lets you turn Macs into Internet file servers so you can share files or folders with other users as easily as dragging and dropping. Here's how.

1. Go to the Apple Menu and select Control Panels.

2. Choose File Sharing.

3. Check the File Sharing over IP box.

4. Go to the Users and Groups tab, and create a new user.

5. To share a file, click on the file and go to Get Info in the File Menu.

6. Scroll to Select Sharing, and share the contents of the folder.

Double-click on the icon of the printer on your desktop. Select the jobs in the list and then click on the small trash can at the top. All gone.

How to Protect your files with OS9 ?

To use this feature, select a file in the Finder and choose Encrypt from the File menu, or control-click on a file and choose it from the resulting contextual menu.

How to shorten your book-marks names ?

In Netscape Communicator or Navigator 3.x or 4.x, press Command-B to display the Bookmarks window.
2. Select the bookmark whose name you want to edit.
3. Press Command-H to bring up the bookmark's info dialog box.
4. Type in the new name.

How to change your display resolution ?

Open Control Panels
2. Choose Monitors & Sound
3. Click Monitor button
4. Set to 640x480

How to move multiple files ?

If they're all next to each other, you can try the lasso method: Just click on an empty area near the top item you want and drag over the rest of them. If the ones you want are spread out, click on one of the items, then hold down the Shift key while selecting the rest. Drag the last one and they all should follow like virtual lemmings.
